FATAL VEHICLE VS PEDESTRIAN CRASH AT OLD RAND RD AND ROUTE 12 NEAR J&D'S BAR & GRILL, WAUCONDA

9:11 PM ... Wauconda Fire District firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a crash with injuries at Old Rand Rd and Route 12 Wauconda. Report of a crash with a possible fatality with a body in the roadway in front of J&D's Bar and Grill. Lake County Coroner notified about 9:15 PM for the person down in the roadway DOA. Initially was unknown if this is a vehicle vs pedestrian crash, or a vehicle crash with an occupant down in the roadway. Later a witness reported a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

Witness reports an apparent intoxicated person walking on Rand Road and then possibly walking on Lake Shore Drive and then Blakely Parkway.

Initially US-12 WEST (northbound) closed at Old McHenry Road. Then US-12 closed down in both directions from Old McHenry Road to Ivanhoe Road.

Second ambulance requested at 9:17 PM in case the reported intoxicated person is discovered, and is found injured. Wauconda police officers and Lake County Sheriff's deputies on scene for traffic control and search/rescue.
