BOAT EXPLOSION WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES ON ILLINOIS RIVER IN SENECA -- EMS BOX ALARM

4:26 PM ... Seneca firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a boat explosion with multiple injuries at the Spring Brook Marina, 623 to 625 West River Drive Seneca. LifeStar medevac helicopter assigned. The explosion and fire occurred where a boat was located at the fuel pumps at the river bank in front of "The 252" Burgers, Beers & Boats restaurant.  The precise location of the initial explosion was unknown, but photos show the boat well-involved with fire and near the fuel pumps. LifeStar transported one patient to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Official injury count not initially available, but the boat, described as a 25 to 30 foot vessel, may have had 10 to 15 people on board. Four additional ambulances were requested at about 4:42 PM. Grand Ridge, Marseilles, Morris, Newark, Sheridan, Utica and others assigned to scene and/or fire station stand by (change of quarters).
