Crash Pushes Ford Explorer into Path of Metra Train at 87th St and Pulaski Rd Chicago Near Homewood
Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Chicago, and firefighters and paramedics from Hometown Fire Protection District responded about 8:04 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 to a report of a crash with injuries involving Metra at 87th Street and South Pulaski Road in Chicago. A Chicago fire crew reported the SUV did not strike the train, but Metra police were investigating the incident as a train strike with a black 2012 Ford Explorer following a roadway crash involving the Ford Explorer and a silver Toyota that occurred near the tracks at 87th Street and Pulaski Road. In the Citizen app video, there appeared to be front-end and rear-end damage to the Ford Explorer and debris on the railroad tracks, so it is likely that the train and Ford Explorer collided after the primary road crash.
