CRASH WITH A TRUCK FIRE AND AMMUNITION FIRING IN THE BURNING CAB ON I-294 NB NEAR OGDEN AVE WESTERN SPRINGS

6:34 PM ... Hinsdale firefighters working at the scene of a truck crash with fire I-294 NB and MM 27.0 to 27.75 near Western Springs north of Hinsdale. Report of fire coming from the engine of a crashed truck on the right shoulder.

Traffic stopped by Illinois State Police in both directions because of ammunition firing in a truck cab vehicle fire.

Crash also reported on Waze.

York Center Tender 77 assigned. Western Springs engine assigned.

Crew on arrival reports a truck crash with heavy fire on I-294 NB about one-half mile north of Ogden Avenue.

Firefighters confirm there is one injury at the scene with ammunition firing.

Silver Honda passenger vehicle also involved. Two additional ambulances assigned about 6:57 PM.

Fire out by 7:03 PM.
