FIVE-VEHICLE CRASH ON NORTHBOUND ROUTE 53 NEAR WOODFIELD RD SCHAUMBURG

10:13 PM ... Schaumburg firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a crash with injuries at Route 53 and Woodfield Rd Schaumburg. Report of multi-vehicle crash with at least one vehicle in a ditch in the median. Crew on arrival reports a five-vehicle crash. EMS assessment: possibly minor or no injuries; all medical refusals.

Crash is located on northbound Route 53 near Streets of Woodfield between Higgins Road and Woodfield Road.

Traffic delays also noted as far north as Golf Road. Illinois State Police report possibly three or four separate crashes in the area.

Bridge is very icy. A crash was also reported near Kirchoff Road near Rolling Meadows, but no crash was found.
