FATAL CAR VS UTILITY POLE CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT AND A FIRE ON GILMER RD SOUTH OF ERHART RD WAUCONDA

4:44 PM ... Wauconda Fire District firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a car vs pole crash with entrapment and a fire at Gilmer Rd and Erhart Rd Mundelein. Report of a crash with injuries and entrapment on Gilmer Road south of Erhart Road. Grayslake engine assigned as second engine based on the entrapment and fire information.

First crew on arrival reports one car fully-involved with fire.

BC34 on arrival requests Lake County Sheriff to expedite for heavy traffic near the crash scene. Crews assigned fire suppression and triage. Three total ambulances to the scene.

Crash located in the block of 29000 North Gilmer Road in unincorporated Mundelein, Fremont Township.

One person dead at the scene; two people injured.

Crash also reported on Waze. Gilmer Road closed in both directions between Erhart Road and Fremont Center Road.
