ATTACKED WITH HAMMER, SHOTS FIRED ON REDWOOD DR NEAR EAGLE CREEK DR ROUND LAKE BEACH

3:19 PM ... Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a battery victim in the block of 2000 Redwood Drive in Round Lake Beach. Report that a person was attacked with some sort of a hammer. Also, a possible police-involved shooting at this scene. Paramedics initially dispatched to a house on Redwood Drive north of Eagle Creek Drive. A262 met a patient with police at Redwood Drive and Eagle Creek Drive. Initially a report that two patients were on the scene. A262 requests a second ambulance at 3:24 PM. Call to evacuate the area for shots fired, but A262 crew reports they were also called up to the scene at about 3:24 PM. Total of three ambulances requested by about 3:25 PM.

Two additional ambulances for a total of five ambulances assigned by about 3:31 PM. At least one patient transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center.
