8:37 AM ... Franklin Park firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a hazardous materials spill at 2926 Mannheim Road Franklin Park. Report of a peroxide spill with a hazmat response requested at the Chipotle restaurant in a strip mall type building. Initially the MABAS alert was reported as an ammonia spill, but corrected to a peroxide spill.

The application of peroxide at the scene was not disclosed, but according to ECOLAB, peroxide is used as a multi-surface cleaner on non-food contact surfaces and glass, which disinfects in 3-5 minutes. A claim on the ECOLAB website indicates their peroxide disinfectant is capable of killing an infamous worldwide virus (species name redacted) in 30 seconds, and Norovirus in 45 seconds.
