TWO OVERBOARD NEAR THE PLAYPEN LAKE MICHIGAN, FIRST VICTIM RESCUED IMMEDIATELY, EXTENDED SEARCH FOR SECOND VICTIM

7:24 PM (WED AUG 17 2022) ... Chicago firefighters, paramedics and divers worked at the scene of a drowning/near drowning/water response in Lake Michigan near "The Playpen" and Oak Street Beach near the Jardine Water filtration plant, and north of Navy Pier in the block of 600 East Grand Avenue Chicago. Report that two people fell overboard from a boat with other people on board. One person was rescued and transferred to shore, and then transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and listed in critical condition. A body was recovered in the block of 200 West Montrose Harbor Drive north of the initial search area about 12:20 a.m. The body was not initially confirmed to be the second victim overboard from Thursday evening.
