HAZMAT INCIDENT INVOLVING LEAKING RAILROAD FREIGHT CAR AT 16TH STREET AND WABASH AVENUE CHICAGO

10:13 AM ... Chicago firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a hazmat incident at 16th Street and Wabash Avenue Chicago. Truck 4 reports foam leaking from the top of a railroad freight car. Level 1 Hazmat on orders of T4. CFD contacting Canadian National after train started rolling westbound before firefighters on scene could halt the train. Affected freight car stopped at "14th Street and Clark Street" -- actually probably near Clark Street north of 16th Street and south of 15th Street.

BC2 reports the foam is AFFF foam being used to suppress ignition from sparks generated during railroad tracks maintenance. Level 1 Hazmat secured at 10:28 AM
