2:40 AM ... Chicago firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a house fire in the block of 8200 South Coles Avenue Chicago. E126 on arrival reports they have a fire. T49 SIDE A. BC23 reports a 1 1/2-story frame 20x100 with a fire on the first floor working its way up to the attic, aerial to the roof, 2 lines on the fire. Primary search on the first floor and basement negative by 2:54 AM. Fire confined to the first floor. Still and Box Alarm at 3:00 a.m. after fire extended to the attic, Crews went defensive and hit the fire with a deck gun. Two lines on Side and one line on Side B; fire blowing out the attic at 3:08 AM. Still and Box Alarm struck out on orders of 225; main body of fire extinguished. No injuries to report.
